Image Share

RSNA 2015 meeting attendees will experience the latest methods in secure, convenient image sharing at the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE®) Image Sharing Demonstration showcases (South Building, Hall A: 1345).

Vendors and research organizations demonstrate how radiologic care centers can share images and reports with patients and healthcare providers through image-enabled personal health record accounts. Other topics include using dose reports to monitor patient radiation exposure and processing and sharing clinical image data for use in clinical trials and teaching files.

Two sessions will provide more information about these resources:

Monday 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

"IHE Clinical Solutions for Interoperability—Imaging and Beyond" (RCC22)

Moderated by David Mendelson, M.D., the session will highlight the Image Share Network and other similar exchanges. Afterward vendors and system implementers are invited to a luncheon meeting announcing RSNA Image Share Validation, a testing program for compliance with standards for image exchange.

Tuesday 8:30 – 10:00 a.m.

"The RSNA Image Share Network—How it Operates and How to Put It into Your Office" (RCC31)

Reviews the goals of the RSNA Image Share project, explains its technical architecture, and details the steps necessary to implement the program.

Both sessions will be held in Room S501ABC.

Question of the Day:

What is a safe dose for a radiation worker's lens?

Tip of the day:

Marking the floor of fluoroscopy exam rooms can help keep staff aware of radiation, especially for personnel like speech pathologists who may be less aware of radiation dose regions than radiology personnel.
