Bidding Open for Virtual Auction to Benefit R&E Foundation
Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015
The RSNA Research & Education (R&E) Foundation offers a new way to support radiologic research and education during RSNA 2015. A Virtual Auction offers unique experiences including a Fighter Pilot Adventure and an Ireland Excursion, with proceeds benefiting the Foundation.
Bidding opened on Nov. 23 and will remain available to everyone—whether attending the annual meeting or not—through RSNA 2015. Anyone can access the auction by visiting RSNA.org/Foundation-Virtual-Auction from any computer or mobile device. Bidders can sign up for text alerts to monitor the bidding action on favorite auction items throughout the week. They can also visit the R&E Booth to learn more or update bids using dedicated iPads.
The auction is part of the Inspire-Innovate-Invest Campaign, an effort to raise $17.5 million in support of R&E Foundation grants. The Campaign officially launched at RSNA 2014 and will conclude Dec. 31, 2017. Supporters of the Campaign—including individuals, private practice groups and corporations—have responded enthusiastically, and the Campaign has realized more than half the goal.
Since 1984, the Foundation has awarded more than 1,100 grants, yet demand for funding continues to grow.
"As a volunteer for the Foundation, I see hundreds of promising research and education projects go unfunded," said R. Nick Bryan, M.D., Campaign co-chair. "The Virtual Auction is your opportunity to ensure those bright ideas come to light."
Online bidding is open until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4.
